Looking like 12 ANGRY MEN, Lindy’s story is all but fictional.

For 20 years, she has lived with an unbearable feeling of guilt and no one, in this Republican and Protestant community, understood her distress.

In 2006, Lindy met the man, Bobby Wilcher, who didn’t have a single visitor on death row in Parchman. She sought his forgiveness and became his friend. This friendship shocked and she lost dear friends along the way.

Lindy was the only visitor Bobby Wilcher had on the day of his execution and she remembers seeing him in shackles in the middle of the room, glancing one last time in her direction before passing away.

Traumatized, this is how Lindy begins her journey and finds her 11 fellow jurors since they sentenced this man to death and questions the impact this experience had on them.

Perché sono un genio! Lorenza Mazzetti (original title)

A film by Steve della Casa, Francesco Frisari

Lorenza Mazzetti’s “genius” resides in her fantastic and profound outlook she uses to tell her extraordinary story and create the most part of her works. Adopted by the Einstein family, which was exterminated by the SS in the early 1950s, Lorenza decided to go to London to forget the tragedy she witnessed when she was just a little girl.

Once in London she managed to enter the well-known Slade School of Fine Art where she stole a movie camera and shoot "K", a reinterpretation of Kafka’s Metamorphosis. Thanks to this incredible first film she got in contact with Lindsay Anderson, Karel Reisz and Tony Richardson establishing the Free Cinema Manifesto and revolutionized British cinema. Her second film "Together" was awarded in 1956 Cannes Film Festival.

Having returned to Italy, she joined Paola, her twin sister with whom she lives nowadays. Through Lorenza’s memories, animation of her paintings and the everyday life we discover a funny old woman who still exhibits all the freedom and the innocence of childhood.

Cheer up

Cheer Up (original title)

A film by Christy Garland

Cheer Up takes us into the teenage lives of a team of cheerleaders from the Arctic Circle in Finland, who always seem to place last.  They struggle to improve, and try their best to look perfect doing it, but really, teenage life can be tough for these girls. For Patricia, Aino and Miia, finding out who they are,  where they belong and what family means is much more important than any trophy.

Cheer Up is a universal story about teenagers. The film embraces the inner conflicts these young women face at such an important turning point in their lives - when relating to family, finding your own way, and fitting in with the crowd is not so easy. Win or lose, cheerleading for them is a second family (like dance, football and other hobbies) and an opportunity to learn about life, it’s pitfalls and success, sorrows and joy.
