In1948, ahandful of cinema enthusiast founded “Objectif49”, a “Cine-Club” in Paris whose existence would be as dazzling as it would be brief. A few months later, they came up with the idea of a showcase demonstration for art house films, thus giving birth, in the summer of 1949, to the “Festival du Film Maudit”.
